I just looked at a piece I have laying here and the bursting pressure is 480PSI at 73 degrees. Unless your running a fire pump (which most of them max out at 220PSI anyway) your safe with SCH 40.

Check your LFS water for Nitrates and phosphates before you add it. Other than that, I bet it is flow. Get another power head. I get small patches occasionally, i scrub it with a tooth brush then blast it with a powerhead for a few days. All gone. And BTW, all my parameters are 0.

Check in the DIY section for overflow designs. Built mine for $32 from the plumbing section at lowes. The biggest cost is going to be the return pump.

So since I have been having a little problem with Nitrates being elevated I decided to build a refugium. I have a 20 gal long for the fuge but I am having difficulties with the design of the overflow. I can build just about anything, so I am going to make it out of PVC, I figure 3/4 or 1"...

So PVC glue is safe to use in a tank then? How long should I let it dry? I know it bonds almost instantly, but wondering about cure time then. And the PVC its self? Schedual 40 ok? Sorry about hijacking your thread

Awesome!! I was worried I was over loading the tank. Prolly the only other tang will be a blue tang ( its what the wifey wants :D ) I never knew the orange shoulder could get that big, that is good to know. Man you guys are great! Thanks Bifferwine!
