    I miss my firefish!

Hmmm. Maybe if I got a pair they either wouldn't bother the one hiding in his cave, or they would encourage the existing one to come out. Would the interaction be the same or possibly less hostile with a different color of firefish? I have the purple and was thinking of getting the regular...

    I miss my firefish!

Anyone ever added one after one has been established a long time? I thought I heard they would fight? But at this point I never see him anyway, so what do I have to lose? It's a six foot long tank, I hope if they did fight they would claim their own territory on opposite ends and not kill...

    I miss my firefish!

I never see my purple firefish anymore :( I mean, I can see him if I look in the cave he hides out in, and he comes out for only a few seconds to eat. But he used to be out all the time. It seems as I added more fish, with each fish I added he would be scared and hide for a few days...

New goby is an escape artist!

I have read other people saying their gobies went missing for a long time and they found them a few months later. Sounds like many of them never become a "community fish" and just want to hide. After I think I prevented him from escaping through the overflow, I saw him a couple of nights only...

New goby is an escape artist!

Yeah, I actually already glued something so that a fish can't jump over the overflow railing, so there is no space whatsoever. This fish actually squeezed himself through one of the slots where the water flows through! They are only about a quarter inch, about the width of a firefish. I...

New goby is an escape artist!

So, you put it over the pipe so that in case a fish goes into the overflow it won't go all the way down? Is there some reason you wouldn't glue it over the sides of the overflow as a barrier so they don't get into the overflow at all? That was what I was planning to do.

New goby is an escape artist!

I just can't believe he fit through the slits that are only probably a half cm wide because his head looks bigger than that! My midas blenny went over the overflow once and then I realized it was the way I had adjusted the powerhead the day before that pushed the water and him up and over it...

New goby is an escape artist!

I guess it's worth a try, whatever plastic screen I can find. I was thinking maybe those plastic grids that people use for algae scrubbers. More fun with super glue this weekend! For now he's enjoying his private life in the sump.

New goby is an escape artist!

My concern with screen too small is that it would quickly become gunked over with food. Also would the screen being in the water leach bad stuff, or disintegrate? You'd think fabric screen would eventually fall apart...can't use metal...I was thinking plastic coated large metal screen, but...

New goby is an escape artist!

A few weeks ago I added a yellow watchman goby. Two days passed with no sign of him and then I found him in the sump. I had a space between the top of my overflows and the tank top so I super glued gutter guard over that and put him back in thinking there was no way he'd get out now. Over a...

Chalk Bass - Yes or No?

I love my chalk bass. Just have one. FWIW I have a large cleaner shrimp who's been in there with him about 6 months.

    Yellowstriped Cardinalfish

Does anyone have one (or a group)? Have you found them to be hardy? Do they pick each other off like chromis? Anyone know if a bengaii cardinal would harass them? LA says "If a larger aquarium is available, it will handle a small group of this species. As a group, they will establish a...

Foxface still not regained regular color

It’s just funny that he had regular color at the LFS in a smaller tank with no hiding spots, just two racks of corals. And more people looking at him. But I think when I got him he was the only fish in the tank, maybe that’s the difference? He doesn’t seem to be afraid of the other fish at...
