The nitrate has remained the same shouldnt that change in a three day period?

Diatoms has been spreading all over my tank. All my levels are the same as they were 3 day should i see a change by now?

I starting running my tank yesterday. I had this tank running running awhile ago, about 7 month i think, i used the same dry and live rock and I also added 10 pounds of live rock about 3 weeks ago to help seed the live rock. I got a high nitrate. I did not but anything in the water to help start...

I am at the point where I need to glue the PVC together and I was wondering if PVC cement will be toxic or not for fish. Also I know that there are many ways to cycle the tank, which way is the common or best?

I mean money isn't a problem if i get good quality and I want to find a good price for what i am buying. I still don't understand which is better. Would it help if I named some corals that i would like to have in the tank? thanks
