If you really wanna be sick, I bought that elegance from my LFS, almost full size, for $65.00 I don't know if he got it in a bulk shipment, or if he is just a really nice guy, but I have seen similar elegance corals for $300 plus.

I think I could be a contender if my focus was better.

On the subject of tap water, how can you test your tap water, and what do you test for? I've been buying RODI water from my lfs, but some books say you can "cure" the water by mixing it and aerating and stirring it up for a week. I have a diamond gobie that does a great job sifting my tank. I'm sure some will say that they may not get enough nourishment, but I've had mine for 6 months, and he is fat and happy. I love how natural the floor looks. I only wonder if he sifts too much.

I have the same setup, with more rock. I got the same advice you are getting on here, and it is true. Spend a little extra money on a good skimmer, and skip the filter.

My LFS sells qt fish that cost 50% more than new arrivals, but they come with a guarantee.

I have a yellow tang in my 55, and in hindsight I think I would have left it out, or gone with a smaller fish. It's happy, but I can see how, as it grows, it may become too large for my tank. In my reef tank, with all of the corals I enjoy watching the interaction of the smaller fish and corals...
