Corals overtaking
Just be sure that you aren't moving the corals too often as that can stress them out. That could be a reason why the corals aren't doing too well. If you move them around, make sure the changes aren't too drastic and keep them in that position for 2-3 weeks at least before moving them again. -

Need some help re nitrates
I've heard that feeding flakes could be an issue, never experienced it myself though since I feed frozen.- reefnoob

Corals overtaking
People don't want to waste room on cheap (and eventually you might even find them ugly) coral. Eventually people want to move on to more difficult corals that are much prettier. -
