    Took Biff's advice

I will never add another crab to my reef ever! Had an emerald that grew to 2 inches across and pick on everything including corals. Mine snapped off pieces of motipora plate he was so strong. They are not 100% reef safe in some cases. I watched him snap and pinch fish that got near him. Caught...

how long to have on white/blue lights?

Your light schedule is fine. What your describing sounds like red cyano algae and is due to not enough flow in your tank.

    Calcium

Turbo calcium will get it up but calcium on the low end is better than running it too high....maintain it at 380-450 and you will not have any problems...400 is perfect. Click link. Reef Aquarium Water Parameters by Randy Holmes-Farley - Reefkeeping.com

A healthy tank should not have a sea hare in it full time. Temporarily they are great to help you remove the hair algae. I had one for 2 weeks before it was sucked into my Seio 1500 and he was toast. Manual removal is the best. I used to have a huge hair algae problem. Find out why it is there...

RO. I make my own saltwater due to my LFS has very high TDS in the water which will promote hair algae growth.

    aiptasia starfish?

They are given a bad rap. Do your research and you will find most varieties of Asterina are harmless.

    Star Fish Removal

I would leave them in. I have over 100 Asterina starfish in my reef tank and they never eat or even are on the coral...only the live rock.

    aiptasia starfish?

I have over 100 Asterina starfish and they don't harm anything. Never ever see them on coral. Only live rock and glass. I would leave them in.
