You have to be careful throwing little critters down there as they might get sucked into your return pumps, skimmers, etc. I think some people just take an old maxijet or something similar to suck out their sump. Stir it up real good and pump out the crude.

Good job. Lionfish are a big problem. Now the problem looks like it may get worse because now they are showing up in 200+ ft which is out of range for most rec divers. I haven't seen any on my side yet.

nitrates stable at 20 is not considered stable. Do some water changes to get that level down. You might want to slowly bump your salinity up to 1.025. Also what is the temp of the tank? It's summer and keeping the temp in check is very important.
