    Odd little orange things...

Well did a good cleaning and probably about 1/3 water change on my tank yesterday and man there are more of those things than I thought. Not much to my rock work and I needed to brush off some macro that was growing to large so I took out all of the rock work and cleaned it off. Tons of those...

    Odd little orange things...

I only have live rock in a little less than half my tank and it's fairly open. If I had a ton of them I would be able to tell as the rest of the tank is just seagrass. I think something may be eating them as they tend to disappear for a day and then slowly come back but I dunno. Will be doing a...

    Babies!

I've got one person locally who is interested in some so if little Francis has more babies I can give some or all of them to them I hope. We'll see how many of what I have now live to adult hood, the tanks real over crowded but the overall survival rate is not fantastic so just chugging away as...

    Babies!

I didn't think about cooling the brine shrimp, that is an excellent idea! Will have to start giving that a try.

    Babies!

Well the first question is what type of seahorse do you have SeaStallion, mine are Erectus, which are probably the easiest to breed and raise. Some such as Reidi are pelagic and require a totally different setup from Erectus that have benthic fry that can hitch from birth. Having said that my...

    Odd little orange things...

Ah figured. Makes sense I fell behind on my tank maintenance recently. I'll suck them out and get some water changes going. They're not really taking over or anything so not to worried yet and they've been there a couple of weeks now.

    Babies!

Here are some pictures: Here's the little guy from the first batch. He's getting big now and I'm trying to get him onto frozen food, which is proving to be very difficult so far. A corner of the 20 gallon where a bunch of the babies from the batch 2 days ago are hanging out in. I believe...

    Odd little orange things...

I have a bunch of these on the side of my tank with my live rock (other side is filled with seagrass) and I really have no idea what they are. Pictures below:

    Babies!

Well more babies today, my fish tank is like a seahorse factory, it's insane. I did find out today though that it's been my younger male that has been having all of the babies though. I had thought that he was just filling his pouch with water in reponse to my two older pair breeding but I...

    My Chaeto will not grow!

I kept planted freshwater tanks for years before starting up a saltwater tank so I do have some experience with growing aquatic plants, Wonton has covered much of what you need to know. 6500K daylight bulbs are the best for growing cheato or any other macro algae or freshwater plants, make...

    Babies!

Yeah Wonton has it, I live right outside Baltimore. Really wishing I had more room in my townhouse to setup more tanks.

    Babies!

Pictures: Picture is a bit blurry, he wouldn't stand still for the macro lense to get a good shot. Shots of the new batch and the one from about 2 weeks ago. And a shot of the 20G I currently have them all in.

Why are Cardinals so freakin stoopid?

I have Red Spot Cardinals that I have had no problems getting to eat, I feed them frozen brine shrimp or mysis, they go nuts. I actually have a problem with them raiding my seahorse dish on occasion.

    Babies!

Well found more babies in the sump again today. I don't even know how they managed it so quick, it's only be 16 days since the last batch. Smaller batch this time again, probably 30-40, I didn't count carefully like I did in the past. The survivor from the first group is doing well at about 6...
