    setting up new Biocube 14

if the water you have the tank filled with is tap water, get rid of it and go buy 14 gallons og RODI water or distilled water to fill it, do your water changes with the same. This will save you big headaches later. Dont put a deep sandbed in the tank, 3/4" or less this will also save you some...

Lots of questions new to the hobbie.

welcome to the site, welcome to the hobby some advice on sand, i would go with only about 3/4" of sand on the bottom with an agressive tank it could save you a lot of problems later less sand=less waste build up which = better water quality

Return pump size and water flow

IMHO i would go with a mag 9.5 you should be running about 3 to 4x your display tank volume through your sump per hour, and make up the rest of the flow with powerheads or a closed loop system, otherwise you will have microbubble problems, and the water will be moving so fast through the sump...

What to use for sump?? need an idea

did you check online???? All depends on what you want, i had to build a custom one because of where i wanted it some people put a fuge on full display right next to their tank, in that case you can get a pre-manufactured tank which will be cheaper crazy thing is that acrylic is even more expensive
