My Dads First Saltwater Tank

Yes, my Dad has always wanted a saltwater tank since he could remember. He never could get motivated about it so when he saw me starting one, he said he'd fund it if I did all the research and the work:) He's also buying a lot of stuff for my tank as well.
My son is a camera magnet! If he see's a camera, he's going to jump in front of it and make a face. He's a goof ball.

So, for a update:
Sunday evening, we moved the painted stand and the tank into position. We decided that while we are waiting on the rocks and sand that we would go ahead and mix the saltwater in the tank. We'll pump it out into buckets when the time comes to place the rocks and sand, but until then we won't have buckets sitting around:)
I will post pictures as soon as I can. It looks really good.

Hello everyone. It was a busy week last week. My Dad's rocks came in and we added them to the tank. The sand should arrive shortly, I hope. We ordered from The Reef Rock Store and he had some issues with his computers. We finally got the rocks in but the sand is yet to arrive. Anyways, here's a picture!

lol, my dad is 22 years retired Air Force and works a full time job. He has some extra cash for sure but he also lives a pretty frugal lifestyle:)
He is helping me a lot with my stuff also. This has always been a dream of his to have a saltwater but he never set his mind to doing it. When I started mine, he was very excited. I'm working closely with him as I work closely with the people here.
His other hobby is large scale RC aircraft, which he loves about as much as aquariums.

its ok. I don't mind I like bragging about my dads time in the military. Im proud he served and now he reeping the reward of serving. I on the other hand have a 3 year old and twin 10 month olds...no money here. Lol
He is good at doing things like landscaping..he has a eye for it.

Its going to be a later purchase. Right now we are looking at two 3' long 6 bulb t5ho fixture. It has half blue and half white lighting with the led for moonlight. We are set though. It'll be q while before wither of buy lights, prolly right before we start getting corals.

I have a picture update of my dads tank. He's been busy! In the tank is two tangs and Clarkii clown. They are all doing well but sleeping during this picture. The lights here are hung from a trellis going over the tank. The light is the moon lighting since this was taken at midnight last night:)

The yellow tang should do well, but you really shouldnt have bought the powder blue tang. They are very finicky fish and will almost always get ich and die, especially in a new tank in the hands of an inexperienced fish keeper. Please do more research before you purchase these fish, just looking at LA is not enough.

WOW, what a difference 6 months make! I have been super busy but I wanted to get back into the forum. I thought I would post a updated picture of my dads aquarium. Here it is:
