Thanks for the advice on what it could've been. Unfortunately the tang detoriated over night and was even worse when I came back from work (eyes were nearly popping out his head) - So I took the hard decision to humanely stop his suffering :(

Hi all My Regal Tang has the following symptoms which I first noticed after a water change in the tank 2 days ago - No other fish are affected; -White spot areas (not lots of small ones but a few white patches) -Fins are rotting and loosing colour -Pertruded eyes -Rapid gill movements...

That happens with my cleaner shrimps (I have 2) - They get lucky with the gramma & regal tang for a second but usually swim away, however my clown will not have anything to do with them

Yeah I've read that too ... so I'm really pleased! When I first added it to the tank he took residence in the regal tangs sleeping quarters ... he was soon chased out of there ... was pretty funny to watch. Hasn't been any disputes apart from that :)

Thanks for ur comments :) So I'm guessing I need to buy some seperate moonlight lights then to run during the night? - are they the small LED kits that I've seen on eBay for sale?!

I've read that alot of cleaner shrimps stop cleaning as they just feed off the brine shrimp leftover by the fish and other critters - If its full theres no reason for it to go looking for more I suppose.

I have done a disolved O2 test on the tank; Result - 8mg/l @ 26c - Roughly 100% saturation Guessing this means that its OK?!

We had a new addition to the tank at the weekend ... a Royal Gramma, below is a snap a took of it earlier. He was a bit shy to begin with but has become alot more active and starting to stray away from his 'caves' more.

Well I've hammered the credit card again and bought some new lights for the tank, below are a couple of pictures and a question! Setting it up was a bit tricky as my tank rim was too thick for the standard frame adapter so I had to by the large frame adapter from arcadia, even after...

From what I've read so far sounding like a good little setup. I have just invested in a Arcadia Overtank Luminaire 4 x T5 lighting unit and while the frame adapters need a bit of work to fit my tank rim the results are cool ... I love the moonlighting effect - I will post some pictures later...

I have a Fuji Finepix S3000 and I cannot get a decent shot of the fish without the flash (and then it looks over exposed) - Thinking about changing it soon so any suggestions would be cool (maybe in another thread)

Had a go with it the other night, nice easy interface and I even managed to have a conversation with the resisdent bot lol - Niceone Chris.

Managed to remove the majority of them by hand and it was pretty hard as my Regal Tang was constantly biting my hand lol. I have noticed a couple more but they are too small to remove by hand without risk of bursting them.

Looking great as usual - nice sized clowns Can I just ask one question ... what make/model of digital camera do you have, because the clarity of your pictures is very good!

Cool ... are they compatible with the Hermits? Think I might aquire some at the weekend if they are

Thanks for the reply - I'll have a go at removing them by hand as my Regal Tang doesn't appear to take any interest in them. I was reading up on the Green Emerald crab and some places warned that it sometimes eats fish, has anyone ever experienced this?

I'll have a go at removing them then ... however does look pretty tricky ... if any more show up I'll check the compatibility of an emerald green and get a couple. Thanks peeps :)

I think your meant to turn them off for atleast an hour everyday but I think the controller with the photosensor automatically does that for you during the night. I'll move the other powerheads to opposite the tunze when i get it ... should create some immpresive turbulence

Smashin' - As I have similar sized tank to your old one I think I will go for the 6000 model which I think does 7,500/lph plus the controller - Tell me one me thing if you done mind ... did you keep any other powerheads in the setup after adding the Tunze? Cheers mate.
