    Best non-standard "starter" fish

I'd vote for anything captive bred. They are probably more likely to deal with the cycle since they are raised typically in less than optimal conditions as far as water quality due to their density.

    Carbon

Like everything else in this hobby you'll find folks who are for and against using carbon. So you need to research the pros and cons and make your own educated decision. I personally use it. I probably would switch from the pad to carbon in a bag though.

    raising calcium

For long term you'll probably want to use a 2 part solution, calcium reactor and/or kalkwasser.

    Ozonizers?

Ozone can improve water clarity when used right. It does have positive effects. Plenty of articles about it. I personally use it...not expecting it to cure disease...but to clarify the water...and raise my orp.

    Wow!!!

That's one reason to strive to be independently wealthy. I'd love to do something like that...but also like a roof over my head and eating. Truly amazing.

    wavemaker

I used one. They cut down on the flow obviously, but work well. I use a seio controller and hydors now. I'd consider the polario that's coming out if I was going to do it now.

    Wattts per Gal.

Rather than watts per gallon, it really depends on depth of tank, how high off the tank the lights are, etc.

    Power Outage

Battery backup won't run everything for long.

    Power Outage

Depends on the temp. I lost power for 7 days in the midst of winter and lost heat. I noticed problems starting in 3-4 hours. I got a generator on day two and only ended up loosing two corals and a fish. I did my best using hot water to keep the tank somewhat warm the first day. If it's...

What to do next? I think my tank is cycled...

I do 20% every other week. Everyone is different. Depends on your bio-load, your filtration, whether you use a protein skimmer, etc.

    Major Cycling problem! Help!

Remove the ammo lock, add some carbon, do one more 50% water change and then just be patient. It will run it's course and cycle in time.

    Bubble Algae-Help

Emerald crabs also worked for me. Do watch it if you have very small fish though....I've got one with claws and one without. Think the two fought and one lost! He now uses his feet to eat...kinda funny to watch....been that way for months.
