Thanks everyone, I'm kinda glad that I had just started out, and hadn't put any corals, or my clams in! I lost power for a total of 2 very cold weeks (well, almost, more like a week and 4 days).

I basically live in Kansas City, MO, and with the recent winter storm, I just got my power back on! I lost all my fish (not that many, but still!) and some of my polyps seem to be on the verge of dying. A combination of temp and lack of water flow I'm sure. My mushrooms seem to be ok at this...

Well, you may be right doc, especially given this is a small tank, 40 gallons, I can do some decent aquascaping without the framing, mainly I was interested in trying the technique out so that when I get really big (210 tank that I'm saving for) I have some practice and can see if it's worth it.

I think another appeal to it for me, seems to be the ease of taking a tank down, as a grad student I don't live where I will ultimately live, if you know what I mean. This systems seems a nice way to be able to easily and effectively take a rock network down and put it back together fairly...

I bought my live rock bulk from an online dealer, I bought the "premium" so I paid more for that style of rock, but for 60 pounds I only paid $200, so that's not bad, like $3.33 a lb or so

I have a uv sterilizer for my 40 reef (well, soon to be reef, have live rock and that is all, but it's cured and I'll soon be adding more life to it). I can't decide if I want to inline it or put it on a seperate system, any suggestions?
