    ultralife red slime remover

Quick story: I don't drive because I have a fainting disorder. I sent my husband out for some kalkwasser because I have read it is beneficial to your tank in many ways, including helping with reducing cyano. Well, he came back with a golden head sandsifter ordered, a new powerhead ordered-my...

    kalkwasser and red slime algae

I have done some research and found (on wet web media) that kalkwasser can help keep red slime in check b.c it will increase your alkalinity. I know a few of you have kalk, I have never used it before. my alkalinity is low, but my calcium is fine(430ish) it says it will raise OR maintain...

    ID help-but no picture:S

okay, so i have discovered about 30 little "things" on my rock. I will try to describe them well because I can't get a picture of them, and "things" is rather vague:) You know on the devils hand coral, the little tree like structures that come out? about 1/8 to 1/4 inch long? Them. Looks just...

    emerald and/or sally lightfoots

I love the idea of having one or two emeralds or ssally lightfoots. The lfs I deal pretty exclusively with, says they are risky and actually are one of the things they won't carrry (along with starfish other then blue linkia, any crab other then small hermits, damsels, etc). They say that they...

    feeding thread

I noticed in Biff's "RIP lenny the Blenny" thread, some talk about cutting back on feedings to once every couple or three days. Here's what I've been wondering~ I have a copperband and 2 anthias. I actually feed small portions 3 times a day, because I am worried about these guys. The copperband...

    transferring tanks assistance!

Well, this is in relation to the DIY project I have underway (the canopy) but I thought I would start its own thread. Ok, I currently have my reef in a 55 gallon. I just bought a 72 gallon. The reef is going into the 72, and the 55 will become a freshwater puffer tank. I need some advice first...

    What color?

I am going to spray paint the back of my 72 gallon when I get it. I have been trying to decide between blue and black. I was also wondering about maybe a blue/green or marine color...any opinions? has anyone ever tried a color other then black or blue? I like the "rich" look of the black, but...

    72 gallon bowfront

My LFS has a 72 gallon bowfront tank with the stand. It is used, and apparently has a small chip in the back. He says it won't damage the integrity of the tank. Also he says the stand can use a coat of paint. but, the upside is it's $350. Should I buy it?

    ann interesting pod I've discovered

http://museumvictoria.com.au/crust/mov1662t.html I found this in my tank last night. Kind of interesting looking. I identified it from CHUCKS ADDICTION. It does say it is a predetor, but it is so small I am wondering if its anything to be concerned with. Anyone find any of these in your...

    Engineer Goby experiences?

Hello all! I am scheduled to pick an engineer goby up from QT at my LFS on Friday. I was going to get a sandsifter, but, I was hesitant to get something that will eat the pods in my sand. I thought this guy would be good to stir the sand and I have heard they are great fish. Fun to watch...

    pistol shrimp questions

So I just bought this awsome mushroom rock. Lots of folds and places for things to live. Which is exactly what I said as I bought it. I got home and realized that there is a clicking coming from that rock. I had heard it in the car on the way home with it, but, didn't realize what it was. I...
