Please give advice on my 75gal reef stocking plans

Thanks for the reply, That is actually my top choice tang. As for the others, I don't think the goby would like my bare bottom. I've also been looking at other clowns but I think the maroons are too aggressive for anthias. I'm leaning towards the Picasso percula clowns. I've also added a flasher...

    Kenya Tree Coral

That is completely normal, may even take a week to adjust. Remember...unlike fish, corals need to adjust to the light as well. Dim your lights for a few days or start your coral off towards the bottom of the tank to let them adjust.

    Help!!!!!!

I was killing apistatia with a pickling lime paste and accidentally squirted about 1 tsp of the paste into the tank. I couldnt get it out and the ph has gone from 7.9 to 8.3 in about 15 min. Can fish survive that or do i need to start dumping in vinegar. If so, how much? I got a 100 gal system.

    debate about water changes

In my opinion, if your gonna dose you need to do it right. Test levels and calculate depletion rates for everything monthly and dose accordingly in your top-off water. Most of us don't have the time or equipment to do this so water changes become necessary. Come on, would you rather spend a...

    Overnight Kalk Drip??

Hey everyone, so over the past few months I've determined that my tank does amazingly better with an 11 kh and 450 calcium. Problem is I've gone through a lot of additives trying to keep it that way. -I was wondering what you thought of a 1 gallon kalk drip every other night? -How much...

    Filtration media and nitrate production

Biff, does it really raise it 10-20? I have a whisper 20 and I'm at 0 nitrates. I only change it every 2 weeks with one rinsing in the middle. I do have a lot of rock though and a remora protein skimmer. Waterdog, other than getting a good protein skimmer or more rock, rinsing the filter...

    help with sump and plumbing

hey everyone, so i finally got a tank and pump to work with. As for the sump, i'm adding a picture with the wall design. I was questioning the wall between the refuge and the pump. the reason i have the gap half way is to prevent the floating algae from flowing into the pump section although...

    proper tang diet?

thanks biff. I know they lead to high phosphates, but they also have 4 times as much protein as the frozen. I think its worth the risk. I'm just very careful about overfeeding with it.

    proper tang diet?

Hey everyone, I'm curious about proper feeding for my fish, especially my new tang. What do you guys feed your fish and what additives are needed? So far I have been alternating between frozen brine shrimp and Omega One flakes w/ garlic. I know the tangs need a widely varied diet to keep...
