What is this stuff? I have lots of it in my sump along with chaeto. It grows like crazy and I trim it every week and my nitrates are hardly detectable so is it something to worry about? my new brain maze coral only $30

It is a little bigger than a softball and about 5 inches across. I went to the LFS to get some algae for the sumpa and some copepods and I saw this coral and I wanted it. The sand is so white that the light seems to glare off the bottom making the pic look hazy towards the sand.

New MH fixture fell on my tank

I came home yesterday to find that my brand new MH fixture 2x250w MH and 2x96w PC was just laying on top of my tank. Apparently the crappy legs that came with it cannot handle the weight of the fixture and they snapped and the fixture landed on the tank. Thankfully the fixture was not damaged...

    hairy mushroom

I came home last night to find the tail of my yellow clown goby sticking out of one of my hairy mushrooms. The little bastard ate my goby. He was always perching on it. I feed my tanks regularly, but I guess he was still hungry. I am going to get another one and hope it doesnt receive the same fate.

    Bio Wheel?

What are ya'lls thoughts on Bio-wheels for FOWLR tanks? Do you like them or hate them. On my 30 gal I use an Emperor 400 with both Bio-wheels in place, but I dont have an issue with nitrates? I have heard so many people say trash the Bio-wheels because they act as a "nitrate factory". What are...
