I use red sea and I havent had a problem with that. It is the cheapest one around me. I just make sure to add in additives to make up for what is not in there salt mix. Biff has you covered on the water change.

Like some have said have patience you will get there. I had a good piece of advice given to me when I started. The advice is that you are suppose to test your water quality daily when you first set it up and when your tank gets done cycling and you will know that by the tests, wait two weeks...

Completely normal just give it some time. It will be nice and colorful in time. Your tank will be cylcling for a little while so the color will take a while to come back.
