Thanks! It's some type of encrusting montipora.It started out green, but under my lights turned to a pale purple with yellow rims.

I euthanized by beloved tang, Hector. He was my absolute favorite fish and a total sweetheart. I'm really sad about it! My purple tang, who is a gorgeous specimen still isn't eating and is breathing heavy. But he seems a little stronger, I'm hoping (but not optimistic) that he'll pull through...

Unfortunately, not much - relatively open system, just observed for 2-3 weeks before sale. I'm just worried about the two tangs now - they are being very lethargic and not eating. Not sure if there's much that's practical for me to do besides a WC.

Sorry to hear that, that's awful. It's DEF worth the expense to buy a ranco heater controller. I have two heaters on it, and it basically is two outlets w/a probe. If the temp goes too high (stuck on failure), it cuts the voltage. If it goes too low (heater fail), the other heater comes on...

Thanks guys - Yeah, the SPS is growing a little slow and a touch pale. Too much light, too little nutrients. Biopellets + UV + AI Trying to feed heavier and light a little less..

More pics...stuff's growing, but the SPS isn't taking off as much as I can. I think my nutrients are too low and my lights too bright. Hmmm.

Convict tang's are pretty hardy, small, and not very aggressive (for the most part - mine's pretty bossy). Maybe eventually you can try one of those.

Yeah, they were my favorite fish. 'Til I got tangs. Ha! Actually, they seem to have extremely similar personalities. My foxface is pretty small, so he's a little skittish. Hmmmm...so...now the question. IF I add another, 2-barred or magnificent?

...and on top of that, I just saw the liveaquaria finally has a magnificent foxface, which I really wanted. Couldn't find one, so settled for a standard foxface! Boooooo.
