One of my friends mixed blacksand with whitesand. It looks good, but the black sand does not buffer at all. You should only mix it in the top inch or so

Good Lights are important for any tank. Check pH level of your tank for microalgae. Damsels change colours, so do not worry about them.

Yes. this is normal behaviour once placed in new tank. Mine still hides after 4 months of being in new tank.

Take care of lighting. Also, be patient. Clowns take time to settle down. Couple of days should be good enough.
