    Sump to Refugium

So if I were to take ALL the internal baffles out and place them elsewhere then it would not hurt anything? How did you attach the baffles once you moved them?

    Sump to Refugium

I have a sump currently but it has no refugium. The sump currently has some baffles that separates some compartments for the return pump and skimmer. My question is, if I cut the exisitng baffles so I can move my skimmer more forward, create a different set of baffles and use the center area for...

    Max Water Changes?

When doing a water change do I include the total of th tank and sump or just tank? I currently do 10gal (slightly over 10%) weekly but my parameters of the tank always seem to be on the low side while the water I am using for the change are where it needs to be in Alk, Calc & PH. I am curious if...

    Storing saltwater

I did the change last night and rinsed the trashcan out pretty well. At the bottom of the container it had a lot of buildup of I gues salt, that was where the little white pieces were coming from. I don't know if the water is just not circulating enough or what for when I pur the salt in. I...

    Storing saltwater

I will change the powerheads around a bit so it breaks the surface. I can't tell what the little white flecks are, it has to be related to the salt becuase they were not there last week and I keep the lid on at all times. Do I need to filter the specs out? I will have to upload the pic later...

    Storing saltwater

Okay so I decided to filter, mix and store my own water. I am using a 32 gallon Brute trashcan that everyone recommended, a heater, and two jets (jets run continously and heaters only a day before I do a water change.) So Two weeks ago I mixed, filtered and mixed the water, last Saturday I did...

    Is it common

Nitrates 0, Nitrates 0, Phos 0. 2 clowns, a Fire Goby, 5-7 hermits, 2 Mexican Turbos, sea serpent and 5 Black Turbos. I feed them frozen food every other day and the tank has been up for almost a year. I’m thinking I may need to replace the bulbs to my light. The light has been up for a year and...

    Is it common

What is the best way to eliminate it now and in the future? I was doing 10 gallon water changes a week and recently changed to 15 gallons a week. Last week end I did a 30 gallon water change over two days. I figured up the quantity of my water change would help but it came back.

No it does not really look like that. Mine is more stringy and on the sand only. I will have to upload a pic for you all to see. Right now I can't get it upload becuase the file is too big and I don't have a program at home to resize it, will try to upload tomorrow.

    Is it common

Is it common to have a little algae growth on the sand? All my parameters look fine, Phos 0, Nitrates 0, Nitrites 0 but I have a little bit of growth on the sand and really don't know how to get rid of it since my parameters indicate 0 for everything, therefore there should not be anything in...
