i am getting some kind of algae that looks like small flakes on my glass and my sand. what is it and how do i get rid of it

i put red slime remover in my tank over a week ago and my skimmer is still overflowing. i did a water change yesterday and that still didn't help. is this normal, when will i be able to turn my skimmer back on

i decided to start storing r/o water in a container instead of going to lfs everyother day to get some. i put it in a clean 20 gallon tub with a power head and a heater. i went to top off my tank today and noticed as i pored in the r/o it looked oily any idea on what is causing it to look this way

i came home from work today and when i looked at my tank i thought i had a bunch of sand stuck to my glass. when i when to go clean it off i noticed that it was not sand but hundreds of tiny little white bugs on the glass. what are these and are they good or bad.

my new sump, an eshopps 100 reef sump came with a 7" filter sock. how should i clean the filter sock and how often. can i machine wash it. i has a plastic ring, will this be ok in the washer. should i use bleach or no.
