I have been running my nova extreme t5 lights for about 3 days now and now parts of my tank is getting covered with brown algae, especially my pump for protein skimmer and heaters... What can I do to fix this problem??

Just received my Nova Extreme today.... Question is there are two "daylight" 10,000k bulks and two 460nm actinic bulbs.. Do I supposed to leave all bulbs on 8 hrs or so daily or run daylight bulbs during the day and actinic at night?? I wasn't aware that you have to have a glass top for my tank...
