It might very well be a piece of equipment but I would argue that no one knows 100% what is in their tanks. I have had corals, shrimp, snails, and cucumber randomly show up in my tank years after buying new rocks. lol

I say leave it alone mine is 7.8 always for years and every time I monkey around with that I lose a fish or stress out corals.

Yeah you can do that just be careful not to get glue all over the coral. I always glue my 'unexpected' frags in another area to spread the love or glue it to a bit of rubble and use it for a trade on craigslist.
