What the heck happened to my BTA?

    Congrats on your BTA reproducing!

    The Mandarin

I love my Mandarin (Sir Goby). He eats frozen just like the rest of my fish do. As soon as the food hits the water he's out scarfing up his share! Pods are reproducing in my sump but I do add live pods about every three months just to help keep them going.

    Concerned about my tang

I occasionally see mine do the same thing. I've never had an ich problem in my tank.

    911 for Dragon Goby

Unfortunately Digger has died. He was doing so well and all the sudden he basically just stopped eating. I tried putting food in and around his cave. He would pick at the food eating a little then he would just sit and watch all the other fish eat. I guess his injury was just to much for...

    Reefs2Go Zoas

I had the exact same thing happen to me about the same time. Must have been the same sale. I thought maybe it was just me since this was the first time I ordered corals from them. I've ordered pods and inverts numerous times from R2G and never had problems.

    911 for Dragon Goby

Digger has fully recovered! He has started sifting sand again. His mouth has healed and you can't tell where he was injured. Now when I walk up to the tank he doesn't duck into his cave, he watches me while I watch him! Thanks to everyone for your comments and encouragement during this ordeal...

Run Time for Fuge and DT Lights

Which is best, fuge light on 24/7; fuge light on the same as dt; or fuge light running opposite of the dt? I run the lights on my dt for 8 hours a day. If the fuge light isn't on 24/7 how many hours a day should it be on? I have live rock, red mangos and chaeto in my fuge The light in...

    Snails killed by stray voltage?

Have you noticed your wrasse picking on your snails? Recently my wrasse has started knocking my snails off the sides of my tank. Once they are on the sand bed he picks at them. Sometimes he kills them and sometimes he doesn't. He prefers to pester my nerite snails.

    911 for Dragon Goby

Digger is almost back to normal. He is eating frozen food again instead of just flake. He is also swimming all over the tank and can catch his own food. His mouth has healed and looks wonderful. He still isn't sifting sand yet but the way he has recovered I don't think it will be long and he will...

    911 for Dragon Goby

Today Digger has spent a lot of time out of his cave and swimming around the tank. The swelling on his mouth has gone done significantly. The uninjured side of his mouth looks normal now. I fed some small pieces of clam meat to see how he would do. Digger was actually able to pick food up off...

    911 for Dragon Goby

Digger seems to be a little stronger today. I've seen him swimming around the tank more. He's very slow at eating with all the damage to his mouth so I'm really trying to target feed him. I hate feeding flake food but he seems to do best with that right now. Hopefully in a few days he'll get...

    911 for Dragon Goby

Thanks Biff, this was a very interesting read and makes me feel better if I ever have to use the clove oil.

    911 for Dragon Goby

Awesome news, Digger has finally dislodged the shell himself and is eating! I was feeding a piece of sheet algae and he came out of his hole and caught several small pieces. His mouth looks terrible, really torn up but hopefully that will heal without any issues. I was so excited to see him...

Thanks again for the help. I'll let you know what happens tomorrow. Thanks, Ginger

    911 for Dragon Goby

Thanks Kyle, I'll pick up some tomorrow. My husband is making me a clear net to catch Digger with instead of using a regular fish net. I figure he is stressed enough having the shell stuck in his mouth so hopefully using a clear net and the clove oil will make the process as easy as possible on...

    911 for Dragon Goby

Thanks for responding to my problem. This is day 3 so we are going to try to catch Digger. I'm afraid it may be next to impossible, but I have to try. I can't just sit by and watch him slowly starve to death. What would the clove oil be for? I don't have any of that but I do have several other...

    911 for Dragon Goby

It looks like my Dragon Goby has a shell lodged in his mouth. Any suggestions how I can help him before he starves to death?

    Bubble Coral question

My first thought is it just needs a few days to get comfortable in your tank. How did you acclimate it?

Does my mushroom have worms, or is it "pooping"?

What do you mean by bathing and rinsing it? I wouldn't bathe it again. Hopefully it's pooping and not having a reaction to it's bath.
