I have had my aquarium set up for two months. I have been checking my water quality every Sunday. So far everything has tested perfect. My question is; how often should I check my water? Is every other week enough?

I have two new creatures in my tank. The white one looks to me like a worm of some sort that extracts tentacles when anything comes close to it. The other thing I have not got a clue as to what it is. My question is what are they? Should I get them out of my tank?

This white stuff appeared in my tank. The best way I can describe it is that it looks like a cobweb or a spider's egg sack. Can anyone please tell me what it is and if it is harmful to my tank?
