I was cleaning it off every thing daily. It's been a couple weeks now and its perfectly clear. I haven't changed a thing I was doing from before, so? Weird.

I even tried Chemi Pure,Poly Filter, and carbon at different times to no avail.Cut back food,blackouts for days,nothing seemed to work. Chemi Clean did, wasn't really going for a quick fix,just was at the end of my rope in eliminations.

So how would you test to find out what the cause was?

Phosphates-0. Two different test kits. Nitrate-0 Don't know what it could've been feeding on?

I tried blackouts multiple times. Have extensive CC. Everything I tried did not work. Just saying, sometimes its worth the risk if all else fails. I really don't know what else I could have done. All parameter were spot on.

Mine was getting outta control, while everything tested perfect. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Tank is spotless now!

Just had the same problem. Only my water params were perfect. The tank is about 3 months old. Just could not get rid of it.Tried frequent and large RODI water changes, scraping, even went so far as to remove all the rock during a water change and scrubbing{In the removed water} to no avail.It...

+1 Get marine spar varnish.It is formulated for high moisture areas. Stay away from acrylics.The solvent based stuff has more odor and takes longer to dry, but it's worth it in the long run.

And Biff. If you don't mind me askin, where did you get a 160 GPD. RO/DI unit for $90? The ones I saw online last night were $280.+. Just the membranes were $100. Like the Spectrapure 160.

I was mistaken on the filters. I checked last night and the membrane was a year. The other three filters were every 6 months or 3000 gallons. Still from what I saw the other 3 were $70. Without tax or shipping. X 2 a year. $140. + an $80 membrane a year =$220. I also looked for the unit I had...

And I was just going by the suggested filter maintainance. Which stated to replace the membrane every 6 months. I think they were like $45-$50 years ago. My bad.

I'm sorry. The Coralife unit I had, had a 35 GPD membrane. So you're right. It results in a 3 1/2 hr fill time for a 5 gal bucket.
