Ok, so here we go with some rookie questions...how do I set up my new protein skimmer. I have it installed in my tank, but I am not sure about the proper set up. I am getting lots of micro bubbles. How do I know how high to set the cup? Thanks.

Does anyone have a problem with their RODI putting off a lot of condensation? I just installed it today and its dripping like crazy. Its not leaking, everything is tight. I just dont know if the water coming in is too cold for the system?

I just purchased a 5 stage plus from Bulk Reef Supply. I actually just installed it today! Was $200 with free shipping. Highly recommended through our friends on here. It was also a breese to install...only about 20 minutes.

I was leaning to the damsel too. Its just huge! And not aggressive or pretty. It is also putting a hell of a load on my tank. I think it may need to go.

Can anyone help I.D. this little guy?It came from my father in law who recently took his tank down for a rebuild. Said he thought it was a damsel when he got it from LFS, but the closest I can find is a Coral Beauty? Any suggestions? He is about 4 inches long and dark purple. Sorry for pic...

OK. I went ahead with the BRS 5 Stage Plus. If my wife ends up killing me, I will leave it to those who helped me with this thread.

I now have a Reef Octopus BH 100SS Hang On Back Protein Skimmer! I hope this will help out my little friends. Man, its really coming back to me on how addictive this hobby was....hahaha. And expensive.

Just got a skimmer online. Now if I can just keep my wife from finding out maybe I can still get the RODI? HAHA

Looking to do some better things for my tank. Anyone have any recomendations for skimmers and RO/DI systems? I have a 55g FOWLR but would eventually like to get some corals and anenomes.

I am looking forward to some coral but am completely clueless. I know I would need good lighting and I dont know if my set up will cut it.
