Well clownfish is back in the 35 and is doing great. Had a much longer cycle then I had hoped but I think its done now. Long story short, it was a pain in the butt to do..... but worth it. Water is so much clearer and all the troublesome algae is gone.

Update: After cleaning out the 35 I put the sand/live rock back in but I put the clownfish in a 10gallon with 15 pounds of live rock. Just incase I get a mini cycle. IMO everything went great so far.

I have decided to go through with the redoing of the tank. Really want to turn it around (way to many marks on the front) and this is probably the best time before I get coral and anymore fish.

Does anyone own a Valenciennea strigata? If so are they hard to get to feed on a captive diet?

hoping to have the nitrates down to about 10, and can you explain what coralline does to mag levels? Lowers them?

right now nitrates are 80, don't know how that happened because there is only 1 clownfish but im guessing its because of all the algae die off. Good news is got some nice purple coralline algae starting so that should help a bit on the Calcium

currently I have no coral, reason being wont the high calcium kill them? Im using Kent salt, and I think that's my problem, even after mixing it with a power head for 48hours and there is still white calcium on the bottom. Maybe if I just suck it up before I add it to the tank?
