Has anyone every attempted to cycle a new tank by adding bio balls from an established tank?
I read somewhere that you could short-cut the cycling time by:
1) adding your salt water and waiting a couple days.
2) swapping out 1/3 (or so) of your bio balls with bio balls from an established...
My LFS has a display tank that is 8' long. He had it custom built with 1/2" acrylic to avoid any bowing. It looks amazing. He said it cost him an extra $1000 or so for the extra thickness.
