10 Gal Tank for Fuge Set-up?

10 Gal - $20 with Lid, Light and Filter.

That is something I found on Craigslist. They have 5 of them.

I was thinking of getting 2. 1 for my fuge and one for sick/acclimation use.

My question is this. If it has a filter and light can I use the filter and pack it with carbon and leave it on the fuge for a benefit of some sort?

Here is a little drawing of how I could set it up. Any thoughts.

The pipes won't be as long as they may appear and it is not to scale. Just showing the flow. Oh and I left out the fuge light and I may just may put some sand in the fuge.

That would be fine I think. I'd probably just drop a carbon bag somewhere with flow. Pretty good deal you found!
