a quick question i forgot to ask. may be important

beeguiles

they call me fish geek ;p
For my ten gallon nano do I need a filter or skimmer on it? I was planning on just having live rock and weekly water changes. Right now I have five lbs of live rock and 10 lbs of dry...and I fine not running a filter? I have one in there right now just to move the water until I get powerheads.

You can get by without a skimmer as long as you keep the bioload to an absolute minimum and are very adamant about water changes, just be very careful with it.

Also, converting HoB power filters into little refugiums is a kind of fun and interesting way to utilize a HoB.

Even if I only have five lbs of live rock right now? it'll prlly take a little while for the rest to become live..
