about urchins...

Reefing newb
A while back, I received a pencil urchin (3" in diameter spines and all) in my aquarium to help me keep the tank clean. But lately, I've had a brown/rust colored algae spotting up my sand and glass, and absolutely covering my rocks. And with this abundance, the urchin goes instead for the few small growing clusters of coralline. Now I may be wrong, but I understand coralline is needed in a healthy aquarium, and it grows amazingly slow. Is this urchins coralline feasting a problem?

<<nevermind, i realized shortly after i posted that could use bit more live rock in it anyway, and that i shouldnt freak out about a little algae being eaten  over reacted>>
