acan bleaching

Two of my acans have slowly lost some of their color...
Not sure if it's because of too little light or too much light.

I'm guessing it's probably too much with the AI LEDs - anyone have any experience with bleaching acans?

I'm betting your right about to much light.
You might try shading them some.

do they need any direct light at all? My coral book doesn't really go into much detail on them..

From everything I've read on acans,direct,bright light will keep them from expanding like they should.

I agree with too much light.Too little light and they darken,too much and coral may bleach especially LPS.I'm having problems with an open brain in my shallow reef.It is now under a branch rock.

But did you check all water parms? Let's not rule out a water chemistry issue.
