AI SOL Mounting Clearance

Just bought two AI Sol's, but need to mount them on the inside of my hood. How much clearance is needed for the fan? It will mount length wise and the only clearance will be the depth of the mounting bracket.

I have them mounted that way above my tank without a hood, and there does not see to be any heating issues. To be safe, you may want to cut out holes above the fan on the top of the canopy
