Any ideas?

This started growing out of my rock a few weeks ago. I hope they are harmless, I really like they way they look in the tank!

It looks like a type of algae. What type -- I don't know.

It has a great deep purplish red color. I really like the way they look. I thought it might be some sort of algae. Thanks for the input!

shouldn't harm anything, but could grow out of control in proper conditions.

They look good when they grow big. ive seen lots of those in the ocean.

I have heard it called tang lettuce before. Not sure if thats a real name or not. I have some in my tank as well.

its a type of red sea lettuce. we actually have tons of that growing on the cali coastline :) its not super invasive but it can get outta control if you don't prune it. i think its a nice addition to any tank
