Reefing newb
So yesterday I did a 10gallon water change, along with the change I also rearranged the rock added a pound of sand some fake plants and added a coralife skimmer. I had water tested today and my nitrites are 80 ppm they were 0 before I did all this. Anybody know why the big rise?

We have a local saltwater fish store here and they don't recommend back to back water changes like that. Should I give it a couple days or is there anything I should put in it to help?

You have a 90 gallon tank and only did a 10 gallon change. You can get away with another water change with no issue. When I had a minni cycle years ago I was changing 10% every two days until it came down.

just the water, try leaving the sand alone. If you get a ammonia spike treat the tank with prime. The lfs will have it. Just read the bottle for in tank treatment and follow it.
