I've been reading about buildingt agrocrete rocks. Obviously there are a
lot of issues, like appropriate curing, but has anyone here actually
done this? I like the idea of being able to design an aquascape with
caves. you can do it with real rock, but it would be significantly
    easier this way.

search the aquaria groups at groups.google.com a while back someone here did it, and had
good results, seeding became a problem as there was no access for that person to the ocean
to seed his creation with, If i recall he was able to get it seeded at the LR holding bins
at one of his LFS's I dont recall much about it other than it was probibly over a year
    ago.

as for bio active you can do that on your own, but with out access to all the larva and
inverts and such in the ocean, your LR will be kinda dead

I very recently read an article about this, and I believe it was here on
this newsgroup. I hope the poster chimes in. I haven't done this myself, but
I was able to find an article that describes the same technique I had read
    about. It's available here:

I know you were looking for first-hand experience, but this article may
    help.

    Regards,

    Dave.

  5. I've made acouple of rocks in july and they have been lying in the sea
since then. Last week I went to have a look at it and I noticed
pinkish to violet growth. Could it be corraline algae?

I've actually read a lot on the subject. I was just curious if anyone
on the list had had personal experience and whether they would recommend
    it.
