aquarium wood?

would there be a problem with putting wood in an aquarium. i was thinking it would be cool just to put in like a 2x4 so it looks like a piece of a pier or piece of a boat.

I don't think it'd be a problem either, as long as the wood wasn't treated with anything. Airstones are often made of wood.

i read this thread title and came in here expecting something different. but to answer your question, i dont see anything wrong with it as long as it has never been treated

alright thanks i didnt think so as long as it was not pressure treated or something like that.

yep pressure treated wood is often treated with copper the wood will have a green hue to it if it was

Drill a bunch of holes in it and you could make a "bristle worm farm" :lol:

i often have this problem when looking at tanks.

Wood will probably leach tannic acid in to the water affecting Ph.
