All they sell is the oddesey brand...is that a good brand? I'm not sure if I remember or not, if those fixtures heated up to the point of fire or not...I may be wrong and thinking of another brand of lights.

They had a lot of problems in the past. Yes it is the odyssea brand. Most of the things I read on the net was a lot of" I heard that this other person said" stuff. I went ahead and tried it even though every one thought I was stupid for it. I bought a 150watt mh pendent with 2 18watt t-5 atinic and I also got a hob fuge with the pump and pc light. So far I have no complaints. To be honest I think it has been the best purchase I have made so far. I spent $99 on the mh light and $108 for the hob fuge with pump and light. So so far a little over $200 invested in this knock off brand and have been happy. I spent $180 on a cpr bak pak and it went out with the garbage. Thing was noisy and leaked. Also the shaft on the power head was starting to rust. Anyway in this one case the rule of you get what you pay for hasnt been very true.

I have the odyssea T-5 and it is great. It is off of my tank now because of my algae problems but It is a great light. My dad is buying more stuff from them for the big tnak including halides. We made a deal that he pays the equipment and I pay for the livestock.

If I had it to do all over I would buy on too. Same lighting at less than 1/2 the price.

Shoot, I could have gotten twice the lighting for half the price

I was thinking about getting that pendant that Ted is talking about, but I live in an apartment I don't know if I want to hang anything from the ceiling so I might get their 192W 36" PC light. Can't decide. If only they had a 36" 250W MH with 2x14W Actinics and blue moon I'd get that in a second, but instead their 36" is a 300W MH and 4x14W Actinics (I think) and the blue moons. I don't get why their small lights come with stands/stilts but only the tiny 17" one is expandable :frustrat: Oh, well...beggers can't be choosers I guess:grumble:
