Are nylon fittings safe for plumbing our tanks?

After a recent pump failure, i'm adding a union to my plumbing. The easiest way to do this is a male-male nipple. The only ones I was able to find are nylon not PVC. Are nylon fittings safe to use?

Not sure about the nylon, but Home depot or Menards should have threaded nipples in PVC. I would just worry about the thread leaking over time with the vibration of the pump. You can only tighten thm so much before they crack.
