aside the blue spectrum can other colors be beneficial

There are some people that will tell you that most of the LED systems on the market are missing something in the light band due to their use of just blue and white LEDs. There are some reports of SPS changing color, or not appearing the same color under LED's as they do under Halides or T5's. Most of what I have read points to the something on the UV end of the spectrum as being the culprit.

I myself have not seen any mis coloring in the corals that I keep, but I do not have much SPS in my tank.

I think the RGB LED systems that are starting to crop up now offer the multi channel color changing mostly for pleasing the human eye, and less for pleasing corals.

Is there something missing from the spectrum of LED? It's entirely possible, but I have yet to see any concrete evidence of it myself. There are plenty of tanks out there using the standard blue and white LED's with amazing looking coral, with everything from softies to LPS and SPS
