Ballast?? or ??? metal halide

So I recently replaced my bulbs 250w double ended bulbs on my odyssea unit which runs off two external 250 watt ballasts. It all started when the lights would first fire than thay would go out and come back on later so I thought it was the bulb just coming back on once it cooled so I replaced them. What I can and did do is plug the other ballast into the other light and it works fine. Now the ballast wont even fire up the light and the other one is working fine. What are your suggstions try to repair or just replace?

I would put my money on it being the ballast if you replaced the bulbs and they still arent working.

Put a 150 bulb in that side and see if it fires or get a kill a wat meter and see if the ballast is paging 250 watts.

Well it is the ballast and I ordered a new one. First I went for an IceCap and no luck everyone first said they were out after I ordered it so I made a phone call to see what was going on and found out IceCap went out of business last week. So I ordered a Hamilton Ballast
