Bio Balls Or Live Rock Rubble?

    Which one is best to use?I plan on having fish and coral?

    If you use bio-balls,you'll have to clean on a regular bases.You dont have to clean the rubble.

    Bioballs, if not cleaned regularly (once a week to once every two weeks) will lead to nitrate problems and algae problems. If you have 1 to 2 lbs of live rock in your tank, bioballs are not necessary and are more of a pain than they are worth.
