bio cube cart. filter question

in the Jeep world we call them PO' s (previous owners) - the PO of my 29g bio cube added a cartridge filter. My plan is to dump it (possibly use on wife' s fresh water tank).
I'm not sure what may have been removed from the back of the cube. Any pics would help.

I'll be using plenty of live rock.

What is a good set up?

Fowlr. Its really hard to make everything happy. If u have a plan, go with that. Just remember a saying found online alot " i am a care taker of these beautiful creatures, and if anything dies on my watch i will not let it go to waste because ill eat it." As long as u make a full commitment, ur good to go. Welcome aboard
