Biopellet tumble rate?

I just stood up a reef octopus BR-MF-110 with a Mag Drive Supreme 7 700gph pump that was recommended to hook up to it. What do you think of the rate they are tumbling?

Looks like too much flow to me. When mine tumbled that heavily they wore themselves out. What brand pellets are you using?

I go by what John Warner told me, which is 100th through the reactor.
100th through the reactor? I do not follow.

According to the manufacturer specs:
  • Recommended flow rate: 520-790 GPH
I am on the high end of that at 700gph.

Go with what you have. Mark your reactor at the top of your pellets. After about a month shut it off and check your level. You shouldn't have too much pellet loss. If you do, the tumble rate is too great and needs to be reduced.

I only ever used Warner Marine Pellets, which is how I came up with the 100gph through the reactor.
