Bizzare Hitchiker

    He's too small for a photo. He lives in a very small hole on the underside of a Ninja snail. There are two relatively long white tentacles that graze across the rock and sand for food. There are also two long red and white stripped appendages (claws or tentacles?) There also many white non-moving tentacles. Reminds of a coral banded shrimp but skinnier and longer and much smaller. He looks vaguely similar to this but I really can't see his head:

    Looks like a sharon shrimp to me. reclusive and nocturnal but safe

    Looks like a sharon shrimp to me. Very reclusive and nocturnal but totally safe

    Are you sure they aren't the legs of a baby serpent star?

    I don't think its a shrimp at all. The red/white banded things have no claws on the end. They seem more like tentacles. It comes out of fleshy pocket like a squids legs out of its body. I saw it eat detritus. I'll try to get a photo.
