Black Brittle Star

I've been told the main ones to stay away from are green and also apparently red. I seem to remember reading that brown and black ones were considered more reef safe.

Should really try for a serpant. Also, make sure it's small.

I would say that all Brittle Stars can be fish eaters, but apparently the Green ones are the really bad ones. They are all reef safe but not fish safe, so I've heard. :)

damn what if at night when all the fish are sleeping, i drop formula two small pellets on the sand, would that keep him happy enough not to kill my precious firefish?

I have a large 10" Green Brittle in my Red Sea with 2 Firefish and to date he has not developed a taste for fish. 6 months now. I usually feed the tank 1-2 times a day (heavily) and he gets his fill. Just waiting for him to become rabid though.

Chances are that if its black or black with white/grey strips that its a detritus eater like Winy said.
I've got a big black brittle with grey strips and he's never bothered anything.
