Blue damsel losing color

Is it possible for a fish to lose its color or is it in my head? My blue damsel seems to me like it is losing its blue color and becoming transparent ?

my blue damsels have turned almost white at times only to turn blue again i dont know what causes this (rookie) but they seem to be just fine other than being camera shy, they eat normaly and swim around,

In my experience with freshwater fish, color loss is usually associated with either a diet deficiency or a stressor of some sort - I assume the same could cause issues for saltwater fish as well

That being said, many saltwater fish are capable of altering their colors on their own

Yeah. I just read its actually quite common at night especially. I woke up this morning and he was blue again.

i don't know much about tangs...i know for my magnificent foxface her main colour is white, but when she is scared (usually during tank cleaning) she changes her skin pattern to look just like a cow (she literally is white with black spots)...at first i thought something was wrong with her, but apparently she can change her pattern and colour at will
