Reefing newb
hey guys, ive got some sort of brown algea growing on my tank walls, unseeded base rock ( it seems to stay off my live rock ) and sand:grumble:. its easy enough to cleen it off my tank walls, and it will rub off my base rock easily enough but does anyone know what the best critter is to get rid of this neusance. i have a few blue legged hermit crabs but they dont seem to touch it:question: any advice will be greatly appreciated. thanks

Astrea Snails work great for film algeas.

Also make sure your nitrates and phosphates are at 0... algea growth is usually a sign one of the two are present.

Is this a new tank?

I agree grab some astreas .Here is good vendor that will shipp for free. The asreas our $1.50 and most orders pack and shipp is only $5

Yes snails, yes snails, and plenty of um. mix um up astea, bumble bee, turbo (not mex), no margarita, and others. see helpful articles for information on snails. will answer a lot of your questions. i.e. cleanup crew.
