hi, i have noticed just recently, i have started to get lumps of black mudd in my tank(obviously it is not ), can any one explane wat it is please, i am currently going through a ich/white spot problem, so i took my rock out cleaned all the gravel, and did a big water change, this is when this started to happen thanks :question:

Maybe Cyano perhaps. Brownish red but can look black. Any pictures. That would help.

Sounds to me like you disturbed something nasty in your tank when you cleaned your sand/gravel. Whenever you mess with that it releases all the nutrients and detritus that's collected in it right into your water column. My advice is keep doing water changes and check your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. You mightve started a cycle.
